Snow in the village.

I usually go to the beach every morning, weather permitting with Bing and Sadie. Bing is currently under strict orders from the vet, to take it easy. This is due to an incident on Boxing Day. We were on the beach and Bing was doing what he does best, chasing after his favourite ball. He was so focussed on the ball he collided with a little whippet. The clash sent him to the ground with screams of pain. He got up and walked okay but in the following days he would yelp if he moved his leg in a certain way. We took him to the vet and after a thorough examination was prescribed anti-inflammatory tablets. These finish today but tomorrow will be gentle walk - just round the garden....slowly building up to longer walks. I have been taking Sadie to the beach but following last night's snow I decided to take her up Handale Lane...she loved it.

  1. Sorry to hear that Bing has injured himself. They get so involved in their play don't they.

When our dog was a puppy, she was so engrossed in playing with another dog in the park, that she ran into the path of a bike and got all caught up in the spokes of the bike.

It gave her a bit of a shock. Luckily, the rider had slowed right down to a virtual standstill and she wasn't badly injured, but it could have been quite nasty.

  2. Looked as though you have had about the same amount as we have Denise, but it is bitterly cold here andmore strong winds forecast for tonight. Still it is winter. Youdon't say how the whippet was after the encounter!

  9. Do you remember the snow of 1947? May be it was before your time. Even the village school was closed the snow was so deep. Hope Bing keeps recovering well.
