Thought for Thursday

Today's Inspirational Quote:

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are."
-- e.e. cummings

Good to feel back on track with my diet - lost 1.5lb at weigh in last night, so if I can shift another 1lb this week I will have lost the weight I gained over Christmas and be on track to have lost 1 stone! I must say I have been eating lots of grapefruit and homemade soup. Made a quick yet tasty soup yesterday :-
2 potatoes
2 onions
1/4 white cabbage

Steam all of the above
Bltz cabbage and onion finely in processor
Just roughly blitz potato
Add 1/2 pint boiling water + stock cubes + seasoning.
Enjoy!

Let the battle continue!

  1. I ama a fan of e.e.cummings, so was pleased to read the quote. It is also very apt for me, who having reached 60, has finally accepted who I really am, that for the greater part of my adult life I was being what was expected, what people hoped and thought I should be, and didn't give a second thought to it. It is with the benefit of age and hindsight I realise who I really am, and now I am sticking to the Real Me for however long I have left. It has been a shock to the system and a surprise to folk around me!

Well done on your weight loss. I shall try the soup. I had a fabulous soup just after xmas, which was just wizzed up leftover sprouts, carrots and potatoes.

  8. Watched a programme about slimming last night and there was a cabbage soup diet which was voted as effective. There was only one drawback to that diet though..... can I leave you to guess what it is.
Glad you are losing. My progress is halfhearted and slow.
    Still, theres plenty of time.
